Music Tourism and wine in Spain

Wine has been present in Spain since the arrival of the Phoenicians, hundreds of years ago. This drink has been placed at the center of many celebrations throughout our history. The wine goes very well with food but, now also, with music and tourism. More and more tourists are traveling to know and taste the local wines of the different regions in Spain. We have found many music festivals that have workshops in their programming to try different wines and explain their history. In addition they include other tourist activities such as visit to vineyards, tasting of local cuisine, tours of emblematic buildings or walks through the nearby forests.

In Galicia we find the Festival Ribeiro Son de Viño, an event where Ribeiro wine tasting and live music are combined. The event takes place in a magical space such as the Barrosa Beach in San Vicente do Mar during the month of July.

We go down south to Andalusia. In Jerez de la Frontera, during the month of August, Tio Pepe Winery brings the best musicians, especially from Spain, to offer top quality concerts. What sets it apart from other festivals is that, in addition to offering tastings of its best wines, the tourist can enjoy the gastonomy of several chefs with Michelin stars.

For jazz lovers there are also options to mix wine and good music. In the Catalan region of Penedés wines of enormous quality are produced. This is where the ViJazz Penedés Festival takes place during the month of July. Champagne, Sushi, Spanish Ham or visits to the vineyards are also available.
